airBaltic announces additional flights to Greece

RIGA: Starting from August 13 Latvian airline airBaltic will increase flight frequency on Riga–Athens route to three flights a week, but on September 4 airBaltic will launch new seasonal flights from Riga to Thessaloniki which will be operated twice a week. The new flights will be performed on an Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic: “We are delighted to announce more connections between Latvia and Greece. As the demand for travel to Greece over the last few weeks has been high, we have adjusted our route map and expanded operations to more popular holiday destinations. At the same time, we are closely monitoring the situation and following strong health measures in order to protect our employees and passengers.”

As informed before airBaltic will also launch new direct seasonal route from Riga to Greek island Rhodes starting from August 6, 2020. The new flights will be performed two times a week on an Airbus A220-300 aircraft. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights can be found on the company’s homepage at www.airbaltic.com.

By the end of August 2020, airBaltic plans to connect Baltics on 69 routes. Currently airBaltic performs direct flights from Riga to various European business hubs and to popular leisure destinations.
