AJMAN: Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) recognized the outstanding contributions made by its employees serving in the frontlines, particularly those assigned to the Crisis and Disaster Management Team, the Security Team and the Emergency Team. The special honoring ceremony, which coincided with the celebrations for World Humanitarian Day 2020, falls in line with the company’s commitment towards recognizing the key dedication and efforts of its employees, especially in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the move to reduce its impact on the operations of the free zone.
World Humanitarian Day became more important this year due to the health crisis that the whole world is currently facing. It is during these times that the Ajman Free Zone’s Crisis and Disaster Management Team, its Security Team and Emergency Team truly emerged–proving their worth and demonstrating key professionalism in crisis management and expertise in emergency response. These teams played a pivotal role in the continuity of services in the free zone even during the worst stage of the pandemic. During their courses of action, the mentioned teams were able to provide essential support to help reduce the impact of the crisis on individuals and companies operating in the free zone.
Engineer Ali Abdulla Bin Towaih Al Suwaidi, Director General, Ajman Free Zone, lauded the dedication of the AFZ teams, citing the importance of their role in the move to prevent the spread of the virus and protecting the health and safety of those working within the free zone. He also praised the determination shown by the employees of these teams, and their dedication to their work 24/7.
“This recognition aims to highlight the important role played by our teams, aside from being able to express our appreciation and gratitude for their efforts. This initiative translates the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Free Zone, to appreciate the employees’ contributions and encourage them to excel and promote positivity in the work environment, to achieve happiness in the Ajman Free Zone,” said Al Suwaidi.
“We truly appreciate the sacrifices and efforts made by our heroes in the frontlines, especially in the move to prevent the spread of the virus. The UAE continues to make great strides in battling this pandemic. In fact, the country is now classified as one of the safest destinations in the world. This is a result of the forward-looking vision of our wise leadership, and the proactive approach taken by government entities and the concerted efforts among them. The National Crisis Management Strategy was a great model in protecting the community’s health, which is in parallel with ensuring the continuity of economic life while applying the highest standards of safety and prevention,” Al Suwaidi concluded.
