My Name is Hina Imran- I am an entrepreneur and mommy of 3 Super-Kids, lives in Karachi. I’ve been married for 12 years. I started my retail business 4 years ago when I realized that income of my husband is not enough to meet the ends. We faced a lot of crises after the birth of our first child. I want to provide best life to my children, so in order to make their life better and fulfil their dreams. I started this initiative by doing an exhibition of the products in my hometown Thatta in my father’s house every week.
My work was going very well for few weeks then After some time, my uncles and his daughter in laws started to object my work because according to them this is disturbing them. Then I started to do exhibition at different places, and I was successfully catering my customers. Then I permanently moved my setup to my in laws house, Initially, I faced a lot of resistance from my in-laws, there were no support from their side, they were of the opinion that my activities will violate their privacy and tarnish the respect of the family, but my husband was always there with me.
Because of his support I never look back, he stands with me through every thick and thin of this journey. Finally, after witnessing my various exhibitions and success, my husband has convinced them to keep quiet and wife of my husband’s brother started this work in our house too in competition, but she could not beat me. In the beginning, I had faced a lot of problems like I did not have conveyance to reach my customers and then I bought my bike to cater my customers, so they can receive their order as soon as possible. This is how I build my name in the market.
My business deals in Jewellery, Cosmetics, Clothes and other side stuffs of different famous brands. All the big dealers and businesswomen contact me when they want to sell their products because I have a small community of my loyal customers. I joined different retail women groups to enhance my business. I am thankful to media group Join Hands N&H to provide me the opportunity to enter in big retail market.
After that Syeda Raafia Mamujee (SRM) has given me opportunity to share my success story. My aim is to make a big name in the online retail market of Pakistan. This is my message is to all the women who are struggling to become independent that stay firm to your dreams and keep fighting because, At the end of the day, we all have to win.
