A delegation of Rotary Club of Karachi Bay visit Bahria College at Sailors Residential Estate ( SRE) Khalid which is adjacent to Younasabad on the Sandspit road. After discussions with the Pakistan Navy it was decided that on Tuesday the 19th of January a group of 10 Rotarians of RCK-Bay will proceed to the Bahria college from Services Mess at 10am traveling in a coaster provided by the Pakistan Navy.
Sharp at 10am the coaster rolled out of the Services Mess for the college. This punctuality could only happen because Admiral Tanveer was to accompany us. How could anyone dare to be late . Commander Munawar the head of the Pakistan Naval Educational Trust accompanied us. Taking in view the miserable condition of the road around the Truck Adda , Pakistan Navy had worked to take us through the PAF Base Mauripur. This shortened the travelling time and we all were pleased to escape the bumpy and dust filled road.
At 10.40am we reached SRE Khalid and were please to see that the area was very clean and well maintained. The school which is about 4 years old looked as if it was built a few days back. The entire building was spotlessly clean.
We were received by the Principal Naeem ul Nisa who gave us a presentation about her institution. During the presentation she and Commander Munawar thanked Rotary Club of Karachi Bay for our financial assistance in the construction of the institution. The Principal suggested that a walk around of the school would give a better picture.
Assistant Governor Hanif Khan agreed to provide play area equipment on behalf of RCK-Bay. The Principal was also promised equipment for the Industrial Home of SRE Khalid. The visitors were all set to leave after a very fruitful visit but true to the traditions of the Navy the Principal insisted that we have lunch with them. The lunch was not only sumptuous but was cooked by the teachers which made it more tasty.
At 1pm we departed from SRE Khalid for Services Mess taking the route through the PAF Base.
