Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announces that offence tickets will be issued against misusing the dedicate bus lane recently opened at Khalid bin Al Waleed St. The offence system will be activated as of Sunday, Feb 7th, following the end of a grace period.
The offence for violating the use of the dedicated bus lane carries a fine of AED 600, and the system will be operational as of Sunday, Feb 7th, 2021. The fine will be issued against violating motorists who use or access this lane, which is dedicated exclusively to RTA’s buses and taxis.
The lane is monitored by 22 cameras. The underlying aim of the fine is to ensure the smooth flow of buses, improve the bus service by reducing the journey time. Saving the time of bus riders will boost their satisfaction and increase the ridership of public transit means.
