FUJAIRAH: Officially kicking-off today, the 1st Squash Tournament 2021 taking place at the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah, with 32 players from different nationalities competing against each other in a total of 64 matches. The tournament opening will be graced by the attendance H. H. Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director of Fujairah e-Government Department, Mr. Abdul Ghafour Behroozian, Chairman of Tennis & Country Club Fujairah, Mr. Sultan Saif Al Samahi, Head of the UAE Swimming Federation and Major Ahmed Ibrahim, Managing Director of the Fujairah International Marine Club, who will honor O7 FZ LLC, Maki Gym and Al Fujairah National Insurance Co. for sponsoring the tournament.
The tournament format will be based on the Swiss Pairing system, whereby all players will play four matches. This format includes a 1st round, quarter, semi, and final round, which allow players of equal strength playing with each other from the quarter finals onwards. The ambiance will be exciting for the audience to enjoy within social distance regulations and precautions.
Being the 1st tournament to be held in Fujairah, the management of the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah assured there will be other tournaments commencing throughout the year as part of Fujairah’s Panthers league to compete with other leagues in all UAE and other countries in the future.
During this Holy Month of Ramadan, the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah will be hosting the Swimming Championship for all swimming lovers to enjoy and strengthen their swimming skills post iftar time.
