DUBAI: Nadiya Siddiqui and Vaheed Khan from ‘Foodies Of The World’ organized a grand meet-up of social media fraternity on Saturday 10th April 2021 at Roadside Bistro, Tipu Sultan Road, off Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi. Tipu Sultan Road is fast shaping up as one of the most sought after food-street with some top-notch high-end eateries already present and with many more planning to come here or open-up a branch.
This grand meet-up which was titled as ‘Foodies N Snappers’, turned out to be a huge success and was celebrities, socialites, rotarians, friends, families and members of social media including tick-tokers, you-tubers, twitterati, bloggers and v-loggers.
Upon arriving at Roadside Bistro, we were greeted by ushers who took us to the media wall, where hosts of the evening Nadiya Siddiqui and Vaheed Khan greeted us with open arms and with the sounds of clicks all around some really nice looking pictures were taken. After a detailed greeting session with hosts, we moved on to meet and greet other guests and with that our networking session started off. We also have excellent views of live cooking of food that was being prepared to us.
Soon live-music began and that coupled with the aroma of live bar-b-que being stewed-up on burning charcoal and being surrounded by beautiful faces added more value to this grand meet-up. First singer to entertain us was a teenage boy named Ahmed who sang well and had soft & crispy vocal chords. This young boy reminded me of Shahzad Mughal and I am sure he will valued addition to our music industry. Second singer of the evening was a typical stereotype stage singer and he didn’t leave much impact all around. Up next was Zee Ali, who happens to be a regular singer here at Roadside Bistro. He seemed at-ease and knew what he was doing. He sang some songs and his interactive chats with the crowd were enjoyable.
Soon we were served with dinner that consisted of Chicken Shahi karhai with naan, Chicken Bar-B-Que and Chicken Shashlik with Rice. For desserts we were served with ice-cream.
Immediately after dinner live was re-started with Zee Ali taking centre stage. After some time seasoned comedian Saleem Afridi took centre and presented comedy skits. The way Saleem Afridi presented his skits was truly amazing and that left all the audiences laughing out as loudly as they could.
One of the co-host of this event, Nadiya Siddiqu said; “this was a very sudden event and this event gave me a lot of sleepless nights. This is our first event and we hopeful that more of these will be planned in near future. I would also like to thank our main sponsor Realme Pakistan and all the other sponsors, without whom this event wouldn’t have taken-off.”
Other host of the evening, Vaheed Khan who has travelled all the way from Lahore for this event thanked all the participants of this event. Vaheed Khan also promised that soon we will have another event. Vaheed Khan also praised the owner of Roadside Bistro, Jimmy Chaudary for taking care of issues on a very short notice.”
In the end a cake cutting session was arranged on a short notice to mark the success of this grand meet-up and later on all the guests were handed over with giveaways.
