To cater for the growing public demands for knowing Indonesian language, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi has initiated a Virtual Indonesian Language Course (VILC) in June 2021.
The program commenced on Tuesday, 1 June 2021 and was officially opened by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat.
This course is hosted by the Government of Indonesia to provide opportunities for the publics of Sindh Province to learn how to speak Bahasa Indonesia. The program started out with the basic level of Indonesian language lessons which is BIPA 1. First batch of VILC will go on for three months, from 1 June 2021 to 31 August 2021.
During his opening remarks, Dr. Hadiningrat appreciated the students’ enthusiasm to learn Indonesian language, while encouraging participants to make most of the course, so that it will equip them with the necessary knowledge of Indonesian language, especially for those who are interested to study, work, or visit Indonesia in the future.
Throughout the course, participants will also have the chance to learn about Indonesian cultures and traditions, to immerse themselves in language learning experience.
Furthermore, the Indonesian Consul General is highly hopeful that this program would also contribute to promoting the existing good relations between the two countries through cultural understanding. In the future, VILC is expected to continuously attract more people to learn about Indonesia, and by which it will also become the precursor to motivate them to pursue opportunities to further study or travel in Indonesia.
