International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Punjab, Lahore.
The memorandum of understanding intends to establish a mutually beneficial relationship built on academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation.
The spokesman of the ICCBS-University of Karachi said that the MoU was signed in a meeting held in the vice chancellor office of the Punjab University, Lahore on Friday.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator General on the behalf of the ICCBS and Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhter, the Vice Chancellor University of Punjab signed the agreement in the meeting.
As per the agreement, areas of cooperation between University of Punjab and International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi include the exchange of faculty professors, researchers, students, publications, academic programs and research projects.
The MOU aims to establish training of technical personals of the University of Punjab on various sophisticated instruments of the ICCBS institutions. The memorandum also intends to establish joint supervision, research projects, and joint publications including patents. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Iqbal Choudhary said that ICCBS was the only institution in Pakistan that was not only certified by ISO but it also became ‘UNESCO, WHO, OIC, and NAM- S&T Centre for Excellence’.
This MOU will be effective for a period of five years from the date of final signature of both institutions.
