ABU DHABI: Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest growing airline, announces today that COVID-19 vaccinations – or regular antigen/PCR testing in special cases – for all crews will be required as of 1 December 2021. Wizz Air, being a socially responsible airline is implementing this policy as part of its commitment to protecting the health and safety of its passengers and crews , as well as to supporting smooth and continued operations of its flights in the long term.

Wizz Air is introducing COVID-19 vaccinations for all of its flight and cabin crews – or regular antigen/PCR testing in special cases – in light of research which demonstrates their effectiveness as the best available form of protection against COVID-19. At the onset of the pandemic, Wizz Air pioneered the introduction of stringent health and safety measures to protect both passengers and crews, ensuring the most sanitary conditions possible and supporting physical distancing. As the pandemic continues, Wizz Air is among the first European airlines to further enhance its protective measures with this policy, which will be implemented in line with the support of local authorities and health institutions across Wizz Air’s bases.

As governments increasingly mandate evidence of vaccinations for crews as part of national entry requirements, COVID-19 vaccinated crews are becoming more and more critical.

József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air Group said: “At Wizz Air, our number one priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees. We have a responsibility to protect crew and passengers on board by mitigating the risks of COVID-19, and vaccines play a vital role in this.
