Tennis & Country Club Fujairah unveils first-ever courts of Padel Tennis

FUJAIRAH, UAE: Tennis & Country Club Fujairah launched the first-ever courts of Padel Tennis in the city of Fujairah.

Padel Tennis made its debut in the courts of Tennis & Country Club Fujairah under the patronage of H.H. Dr Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamad Al Sharqi.  The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Body Building and Physical Strength and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi.

In attendance, were also Abdul Ghafour Bahrzoyian, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujairah Tennis Club, Engineer Ali Qassem, Director General of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, and several dignitaries.

The event kicked off with an address by the Chairman of the Fujairah Tennis Club. Moreover, an exhibition match took place between H.H. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi and personages from Dubai and Fujairah which included: Captain Nasr Al Niadi, Captain Batata, Mr Khaled Khalaf, and Mr Matar Khalaf.

Successively, the sport has emerged as one of the most anticipated and delighted ones, in the region due to the fast pace of the sports and ease of technicalities during the play. Padel Tennis is a racquet sport like Squash or Tennis; usually played in doubles in a confined court. It is a sport that entails an invigorating combination of mind and body. The mind and body are tested to their limits, bringing out the maximum potential in the player.

Abdul Ghafoor Behrozyan expressed his elation and gratification over the grand entrance of Padel tennis in the city of Fujairah and how it has gradually gained popularity in the reason especially the people, who usually indulge less in sports activities.

He also stressed on the main objective of establishing a pitch for paddle tennis in the Tennis Club in Fujairah is to promote and encourage the sport to those who would usually venture long to other cities to participate.

In the end, Bahrozyan added: All sporting events that are implemented in the club are subject to the conditions and controls of social distancing and the application of precautionary measures.
