Chefs Association of Pakistan (CAP) & COTHM Karachi maintaining its tradition, organized a prestigious International Chefs Day event titled “Healthy Food for the Future” at a leading five-star hotel in Karachi this year as well. In which a large number of guests from all over the city and future chefs participated and performed their art.
Special guests of the function were Hassan Sarwat (Director of National Foods Limited), Engineer Sabir Ahmed (Executive Director of COTHM, Karachi), Olivier Francis (General Manager of Awari Tower), Dr Muhammad Imran (Council General of the Philippines), Faizan Rawat (General Secretary of All Karachi Restaurant Association), Waqas Azeem (Member Standing Committee of Food Chamber of Commerce), Chef Gulzar, Chef Zarnak, Chef Naheed Ansari Chef Farah and large number of guests from the industry participated.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem of Pakistan, followed by a cake cutting and chefs walk in celebration of International Chefs Day. Addressing the inaugural function on the occasion of International Chefs Day, COTHM Karachi Executive Director Engineer Sabir Ahmed said that healthy food is a basic human need and in this regard the role of chef is becoming important in the society. Took a pledge from the students that they will always shine the name of Pakistan in practical life and will respect their teachers and parents.
Special guest of The International Chefs Day Hassan Saroot (Director of Sales, National Foods Limited) addressing the participants while talking about the importance of chefs in the society, said that in today’s world we need healthy food and the hands of skilled chefs are very important for this and the provision of clean and nutritious spices is the primary responsibility of National Foods and National Food is a household name not only in Pakistan but all over the world and we will continue to work with a quality educational institution like COTHM for the betterment and development of the culinary industry.
Waqas Azeem of Convener (FPCCI) Capital Standing Committee on Restaurants and Faizan Rawat of Karachi Restaurants Association also lauded COTHM’s efforts in providing best careers to young students on the occasion of Chefs Day. At the end of the ceremony, certificates and commemorative shields were presented to the distinguished chefs and distinguished guests.
