DUBAI: Responding to the directives of the wise leadership to increase women’s contributions to the UAE’s preparations for the next 50 years, Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has announced its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Women Establishment. HBMSU will conduct world-class learning and training programs to help develop the participants’ professional capabilities and entrepreneurial skills, with special emphasis on entrepreneurship being that it plays a key role in shaping the future of the economy.
The agreement was signed at the university’s campus by H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HMBSU, and H.E. Shamsa Saleh, CEO of Dubai Women Establishment. By entering into a partnership, both sides demonstrated their commitment to jointly organize pioneering initiatives and training programs, provide technical and management consultancies, and design professional diplomas to enhance the management practices of women in the UAE.
HE Mansoor Al Awar noted that the MoU between HBMSU and Dubai Women Establishment will pave the way for the university to provide professional women with access to its top-notch academic programs, which are accredited by the Ministry of Education. The university’s courses encompass multiple disciplines, including total quality management (TQM), strategic planning, corporate excellence, and innovation and knowledge management, all of which can contribute to empowering women and increasing their role in shaping the country’s future.
Al Awar also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in preparing the needed training and consultancy programs and professional diplomas that can enhance the careers of women in Dubai and the UAE. The partnership between the two parties reflect their common objectives to enhance the skills and capabilities of Emirati women and build a new generation of female leaders with knowledge and innovative skills that are vital to the UAE’s preparations for the next 50 years. Their objectives are in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HMBSU.
“Our agreement with Dubai Women Establishment will have a positive impact as it focuses on developing the leadership skills of women, which reflects our pivotal role as a hub of knowledge and science and a leading academic institution that produces future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders, rather than job seekers. We are confident that our joint efforts will support the vision of our wise leadership to develop the entrepreneurial capabilities of our youth, the driver of the country’s development and advancement,” Al Awar said.
HE Shamsa Saleh lauded the cooperation between HBMSU and Dubai Women Establishment, saying it would contribute to raising women’s professional capabilities and increasing their participation in the economy, especially in the field of entrepreneurship. She pointed out that the MoU will also enhance the participants’ knowledge on innovation, institutional excellence, and strategic planning as they benefit from the expertise, resources, and technical capabilities of Dubai Women Establishment and HBMSU, the region’s leading and innovative academic institution.
She also explained that the MoU will enable the Establishment to build more partnerships with institutions that can elevate women’s standing in society. She pointed out as well that the agreement will help realize the wise leadership’s vision to strengthen the role of women in the UAE’s bid to become one of the world’s leading countries on all fronts according to its plan in the next 50 years.
HE Shamsa reaffirms the Dubai Women Establishment’s commitment to support of HBMSU’s efforts, by providing all facilities for its employees and trainees, in addition to the services to be extended by the Dubai Ladies Club to the university’s affiliates. She thanked the University for providing training and consulting services and offering its Ministry-accredited professional and academic programs in management, quality, institutional excellence, entrepreneurship, creativity, and change management to the Establishment’s learners.
The MoU is seen to lead to more strategic partnerships to advance an innovative educational system and enrich the existing training, advisory, and professional programs for women. The agreement also focuses on projects, research, and studies on knowledge management, innovation, comprehensive quality, institutional excellence, and strategic planning. The MoU grants the Dubai Women Establishment’s learners special advantages in its access to HBMSU’s professional and academic programs according to the university’s rules and regulations.
HBMSU is the first academic institution in the Middle East and the Arab world to offer smart learning programs and courses focusing on TQM. The university seeks to be a leader in innovation in smart learning and re-engineer the future of education for the benefit of individuals, institutions, and society. HBMSU has set ambitious goals that go beyond the usual objectives of traditional universities. Its goals are based on several pillars, including smart learning, lifelong learning, education re-engineering, and total quality.
The Dubai Women Establishment was established in 2006 under Law No. (24) by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This government institution, which is affiliated with the Government of Dubai, aims to develop the capabilities of Emirati women, highlight their vital role in society, and enhance their participation in the professional world and the economy. The Establishment includes the Dubai Ladies Club and the Cultural Office of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
