After working for almost 20 years in reputed Multinational & National companies in the field of marketing and customer services. A MBA by qualification Huma decided to start her own business 3 years ago aiming to be her own boss! And that was tougher she realized later on.
Cooking was always her passion, the little time she squeezed out of her tough routine juggling between work, home and 4 kids, cooking meals for family and friends was a pleasure. The appreciation use to take all the tiredness away.
Her experience working with food companies paid off, guiding her in all aspects, whatever she had learned was put to use now.
The challenge faced, when she entered this business was, that she wanted to stand out and create a difference. Selling products in a way that customers get the home cooked feel alongside with professional touch! Correct balance of recipes, hygienic packaging and competitive pricing was a hard nut to crack. Spent good one month in research first. Then launched her venture with complete homework, who had thought how much would one plate potatoes curry cost!!!
Its social media times, so reaching out to potential customers through effective marketing this medium was inevitable. But there were so many loved ones around to help. Kids built the social media and keeps it live to date and her sister 24/7 consultant!
To maintain the quality of food & services is an ongoing process. Keeping fingers on the pulse of the customers, identifying and catering to their i needs. Huma feels proud to share, that during this pandemic time people have approached her from so many countries ordering / arranging meals for their loved ones in Karachi in times of stress. And she felt blessed to help out!
After starting her business in 2019 the first group she interacted with was ‘Homemade food services’ HFS and it was a ‘Bingo’ A group of likeminded ladies , HFS provided all the support needed to sail smoothly. The way the group involves and interacts with its members is amazing. The way it arranges interaction and create opportunities to help out homebased culinary experts is commendable.
