Fine Arts Pakistan Gallery hosted opening ceremony of exhibition of paintings “Soul and Substances” by senior artists Mashkoor Raza, Dr. Samina Zaheer, Khusro Sabzwari and Sarosh Tariq on Thursday, 13 January, 2022 at plot number 20-C, Stadium Lane 1, Phase V Commercial Area DHA, Karachi. The show will continue until 22nd January, 2022.
Artist Mashkoor Raza a graduate and a gold medalist from Karachi School of Art in 1972, during the last 20 years or so, he has figured prominently in the art world. Mashkoor is a prolific abstract artist. His his work has been, more roughly brushed in and richly coloured. His versatility is exciting including structured abstract works with the emphasis on shades of white. His oeuvre also includes calligraphic art experimenting with line and texture; and then there are his horses.
The artist has also worked with figurative narratives, fragmented forms gracefully juxtaposed with symbolic suggestions and contrasting elements.
Artist Khusro Subzwari an engineer, who proved an asset while he created marvelous, highly touched his sensitivity outworks, thus awakening the sense significantly. Khusro started with abstraction and enhanced his passion through spiritual induction; Khusro’s floral and Sufi paintings are very much enjoyed locally in Pakistan and even on international forum too.
Artist Ms. Sarosh Tariq a Professor /HOD (Fine Arts) Dept in Post Graduate College for Women. Her Paintings were titled “Conversion” as she portrays “Conversion” as “Reality of life “. The visionary artist depicts the reality and portrays on her canvas, rendering a personal touch to her work. Deep vibrant colours pervade her canvas and infuse into each other fascinating output.
Dr. Samina Zaheer an PhD student at the College of Art and Design, University of Punjab, Her visual exploration that started from image and identity that was transmitted on canvas with simple forms and endearingly bright colours, she feels this is the way to expressing the character of her local environment.
