Thirteenth Conference on Food Safety and Quality was held at Dreamworld Resort in Karachi under Consumer Association of Pakistan. Engr. Sabir Ahmed (Executive Director of COTHM, Karachi), Food Safety Expert Sumaiya Shahadat, Syed Azhar Jamil (Vice President of CAP) and hundreds of COTHM students attended the conference as Strategic Partners other guests included Director General PCSIR Dr. Hafiz Rabb Nawaz, Mr. Akhtar Bhogio (Director General Pakistan Halal Authority) Mr. Talha Siddiqui (Halal Inspection Expert ), Shaikh Khalil-ur-Rehman (Vice Chairman Khalil Group), Rohi Akbar (Q&N Senior Manager) and Karachi University Dr. Asad Saeed (Ex-Chairman of the Food Department).
On this occasion the Chairman of Consumer Association Mr. Kokab Iqbal informed about the aims and objectives of the conference and also informed the guests about the importance of food safety and quality.
Praising awareness, Engr Sabir Ahmed (Executive Director of COTHM Karachi) urged the media to play its role in raising public awareness on food safety and quality, he highlighted the importance of training along with legislation. Informing the guests about Cothm’s efforts in this regard, he enthusiastically pledged to the students of the sectors present in the hall that they would continue to increase their knowledge and training in food safety and quality.
Education will always focus on food quality and safety wherever they work and will carry out public awareness campaigns through the Consumer Association platform. The conference concluded with a note of thanks from Mr. Abdul Jabbar Rathore (Executive Director, Dreamward Resorts). In the end of the evening the gifts from Q&N and the shields were distributed to the guests and speakers.
