The glitz and oomph of Bollywood were visible in all their glory as superstar Salman Khan and some of Bollywood’s biggest performers rocked the stage in the ‘Da-bangg Tour Reloaded’ event at DEC Arena at Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday (25 February).

Bollywood queens Saiee Manjrekar, Sonakshi Sinha, Disha Patani and Pooja Hegde held the audience spellbound with their elaborately-choreographed dance numbers from popular Hindi movies, supported by a troupe of professional dancers.

Competing for attention were male stars Ayush Sharma, Guru Randhawa, Kamaal Khan and Maneish Paul, who performed songs from their movies.

The showstealer was, of course, Salman Khan, popularly known as the Sultan of Bollywood, who won the hearts of the audience with his friendly banter and choreographed songs from some of his own back catalogue, including the Da-bangg series.

Speaking after the adrenaline-fuelled show, Salman Khan said: “It was amazing to see the fans enjoying themselves. This [Reloaded] show was better than the last, and the next one will be better than this [edition]. Da-bangg gets better each time.

“Expo is amazing, and it would probably take me an entire year to see it [properly]. Only the UAE could achieve this in such a short space of time.”

Sonakshi Sinha added: “Da-bangg tours have travelled all over the world, but performing at Expo 2020 Dubai was a different experience. The turnout was amazing, and the energy was electrifying. Our tours are usually in stadiums with very large crowds, but here [at the arena] it was livelier, and I could feel the energy, which helped me to perform the way I did.”

It was the first time for Disha Patani and Pooja Hegde to perform in a Da-bangg show. Pooja Hegde confessed her nervousness before the show and said: “I have seen big names perform at Expo, and it is an honour to be here.”

Disha Patani, Saiee Manjrekar and Pooja Hegde say they plan to return to Expo to experience the amazing event before it ends.

The Da-bangg Tour is named after the original 2010 Da-bangg movie, and this is the second time the globetrotting event has been staged in Dubai – the only city to hold that honour. Photo credits: @_Being_Tarun Twitter
