The Dubai Charity Association’s targets for the Holy Month of Ramadan 2022 includes AED 160 million in donations, the organisation revealed at Expo 2020 Dubai on Wednesday.
Charitable giving is an important focus during the Holy Month and each year, Dubai Charity Association ramps up its efforts to support those in need both locally and around the world, with new initiatives.
Of the AED 160 million, a total of AED 80 million will be allocated to building mosques, AED 20 million will go towards constructing water wells, and AED 35 million is planned as ‘zakat’, or alms for charitable causes.
Khalid Mohamed Al Olama and Mastafa Ismail Karam, Board Members of Dubai Charity Association, revealed the charity’s projects this year will focus on iftar meal donations, delivered directly to people in need, as well as medical insurance support (including consultations, medicines and treatment) provided to those who meet the criteria for assistance.
