Hajj & Umrah Conference and Exhibition ended with several recommendations to achieve the sustainability of the sector. In the conference and exhibition of Hajj & Umrah Services titled “Transformation towards innovation”, participated 20 ministers and officials of government and private sectors of 150 departments.
On Monday 21st of March, the conference and exhibition of Hajj & Umrah services was inaugurated by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah region.
The event was organized by ministry of Hajj and Umrah in cooperation with the “Doyof Al-Rahman” program, which is one of the executive programs of the Saudi Vision.
In the conference different matters were discussed for the improvement of the services like; the shift towards innovation and technology, improving the digital experience to serve the pilgrims, innovation and leadership in serving the pilgrims, in addition to measuring the performance of the pilgrims’ service, innovative awareness for the pilgrims, and technology & health protection for Hajj & Umrah pilgrims.
The international conference witnessed 40 sessions and workshops, and signing of 8 agreements as part of the ministry’s endeavor to shed light on the Kingdom’s future projects related to Hajj & Umrah. Furthermore it focused on the shift towards innovation to bring about a qualitative leap in line with the developments of the new Hajj and Umrah system and the outputs of the “Doyof Al-Rahman”program and activation of advanced tools and methodologies, technology to serve the pilgrims, and support entrepreneurs and innovators through the conference & exhibition.
The conference and exhibition reviewed the important and latest topics related to the shift towards innovation. In addition to submitting recommendations and proposals that, in turn, contribute to achieving the sustainability of the vital sector in accordance with Vision 2030.
While the workshops on the closing day discussed the financing needs of the sectors operating in the Hajj &Umrah ,the management of innovation in Hajj and Umrah ISO 56002, and the smart transportation of pilgrims.
On the last day of conference the names of the winners of the “Hajj & Umrah Challenge” program was also announced, in which 1,500 innovators were registered and 120 innovators participated in it over 3 days under one roof through 6 tracks distributed between “crowd management”, “waste management”, “housing”, “catering”, “health”, “transportation”. The first place was won by the “MAALEEM TEAM”, while the second by the “ARABA TEAM” and the third place was won by the “SAQAYA TEAM”.
