Marking the arrival of the holy month, Mall of the Emirates has launched a new pop-up market – Ramadaniyat – inside its unique Emirati cultural hub, Zeman Awwal. The inspirational festival runs throughout Ramadan and provides a physical platform to showcase creations from Emirati and Arab designers and artists. It celebrates the rich heritage and compelling traditions of Ramadan through jewellery, fashion, arts and crafts, and culinary experiences. Open from April 12 to 30, 12.00 pm to 12.00 am, the market will showcase the very best of the UAE’s past and present.

Located near the mall’s valet parking entrance on the second floor, Ramadaniyat will combine modern and traditional arts, customisation, and daily entertainment with a compelling shopping experience, complemented by various food and beverage options available after Iftar. Visitors can wander and explore traditional and artisanal artworks and unique pieces handmade by artisans and craftspeople, while movies for kids and families provide intriguing experiences for all ages.

Featured in the assortment are home-grown brands as well as leading international artists and designers to inspire the next generation of creative minds and provide a compelling cultural celebration this Ramadan.

Hussain Moosa at Majid Al Futtaim Properties – Director, Mall of the Emirates said: “Ramadan encourages the wider community to pause, observe and reflect on where they have been and where they are going. Zeman Awwal seeks to encourage exactly that – the preserving of abundant customs and history of the UAE by combining culture and creativity to create new pathways and experiences. Ramadaniyat keeps the spirit of connection between the history and contemporary day alive, offering even more moments for joy and inspiration as we come together to celebrate the holy month.”

Guests can immerse themselves in the latest addition to Zeman Awwal’s nine unique cultural hubs. The 1,100 sqm space in Mall of the Emirates also houses an Emirati souk, art gallery, Majlis Cinema, and costume exhibit in collaboration with The Zay Initiative for visitors to explore all year-round.
