DUBAI: Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, a mission-driven, nature-inspired and luxury brand with locations in Dubai, Ajman and Fujairah, celebrated it’s April month-long initiative “Don’t Just Share, Care” campaign – a coordinated efforts across all three properties, engaging staff and guests, to mark the important occasion of Celebrating Loving Earth, focused on raising awareness of environmental issues, specifically around protecting the planet. These initiatives are a testament to the fact that sustainable choices and celebrating the planet are brand priorities.
Created to reflect the Earth month’s spirit of sharing, caring and togetherness “Don’t Just Share, Care” presents several brand initiatives, and here a few details surrounding the Earth Hour initiatives that took place at various properties:
• At Fairmont Dubai, all non-essential principal lighting and the hotel building exterior lighting was shut off during the hour. Guests were also encouraged to join this initiative by turning off unnecessary guest room lighting. Tea lights and candles were placed throughout the lobby entrance. Trophy Room Sports Bar, was offering Earth Hour specials, featuring “Glow in the Dark” cocktails.
• Along with energy saving measures such as switching off lighting throughout the property, lighting candles, and turning off unnecessary guest room lighting, Fairmont Ajman Beach Resort, celebrated earth hour in a very special way with an Earth Hour inspired torch lighting ceremony.
• At Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort, hotel staff and guests participated by turning off their lights to mark the Earth Hour and invited guests to celebrate the event with a candlelight dinner or drink in Copper Lobster as part of raising awareness for a more sustainable and responsible future. “This brand movement supports our commitment for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts to not be another hotel brand, but a cause and a platform for change that encourages consistent conversation and action,” said Rawail Muhammad, Cluster Talent and Culture Manager, of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. “Celebrating Earth Hour is one of the many ways we demonstrated how we conserve energy every day, and our goal is to be continuously dedicated and committed to living sustainably as well as inspire sustainable model that brings about enduring changes to the environment.
