Pakistan Academic Consortium hosts Teachers’ Conference in collaboration with AKUEB

Pakistan Academic Consortium holds 3rd PAC Teachers’ Conference in collaboration with Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKUEB) themed as ‘Pedagogical Calibration – Curriculum, Cognition & Coalition’

Held at Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL), the conference brought together over 200 Principals, Teachers and decision makers to learn from industry’s mentors and each other’s experiences through key note, preliminary session, talks and panel discussion.

The conference began with Welcome Note by PAC Founder President Nasir R. Zaidi who stated that continuous professional development of teachers has become an indispensable requisite to cope up with emerging challenges of fast- changing world and their capacity in innovative pedagogies and interactive assessment procedures inside classrooms must be enhanced to enliven the teaching-learning process.

The keynote speaker Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Former Vice Chancellor Sindh Madresatul Islam University reiterated that curriculum devised for schools should be upgraded more often and it should be aligned with the norms of 21st Century calibrating with digital disruption.

Dr. Huma Baqai, Rector MITE, while sharing her views on Industry-Academia Interface, reinforced that students should be taught and nurtured to become entrepreneurs, not job seekers. Teachers should be passionate enough to transfer knowledge, skills and aptitude amongst students so that they could turn their ideas into pragmatic endeavours.

‘National Curriculum provides with a framework that ensures flooring for educators, not ceiling’, said PAC President Nasir R. Zaidi. A panel discussion on Systematic Educational Monitoring & Evaluation: Leaders’ Perspective was moderated by Lubna Panjwani. The panelists were Ms. Ameena Saiyid OBE, Dr. Fatima Dar, Dr. Safi Uddin Siddiqui & Salma Alam. It was preceded by a mesmerizing talk by Prof. Saleem Mughal on ‘Kahani – Soch Ka Pehla Safr’. Veteran educationist and master trainer Abbas Husain shared his wisdom on Learner Training: Language, Labour & Leverage.

Dr. Shehzad Jeeva, CEO & Associate Professor of Practice (AKUEB) and Ali A. Bijani, Manager Teacher Support AKUEB gave meaningful presentation on Global Citizenship: To Be Or Not To Be In Our Curriculum followed by motivational speech by Samad Abbas.

The Chief Guest was Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, CEO Dr. Essa Laboratory while masters of ceremony were Fahad N. Siddiqui & Arsalan Faruqi.
