Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Literary Committee (Shair –o- Sakhun ) organized a function on the occasion of “Liaqat Day” at Hasina Moin Hall. The ceremony started with a recitation of the Quran. The program was presided over by Dr. Masooma Hasan, while Mahfouz-ul- Nabi Khan was the chief guest.
On this occasion, chairperson of the literary committee, Anbreen Haseeb Anbar, Khawaja Razi Haider, Raees Fatima, Agha Masood Hussain, Muhammad Usman Jamee, Altaf Mujahid, and Liaqat Ali Khan were present. Liaquat Ali khan’s son Akbar Liaqat Ali Khan spoke online. In the presidential speech, Dr. Masooma Hassan said that Nawabzada was a great leader. He was a great leader in his own right. Liaqat Ali Khan is the hero of all of us. The conditions in Pakistan were very bad at the time of the partition. Liaqat Ali Khan gave stability to Pakistan with hard work, dedication, and honesty. Nawabzada was a very enlightened person.
The chief guest Mahfouz –ul- Nabi Khan said that all the moments spent with him are precious to him and I thank President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah who organized this event. Akbar Liaqat Ali Khan, the son of Liaqat Ali Khan expressed himself online and said that his father kept nothing for himself and sacrificed everything for Pakistan. He was living in India but his life, property, and love were for Pakistan till now it has not become Pakistan as he thought but hopes it will be one day.
Anbreen Haseeb Anbar said that living nations are those who remember their elders. The services of Nawabzada Liaqat Ali Khan should be written with a golden pen. He was such a prime minister who always thought for the betterment of the people. Altaf Mujahid said that Liaquat Ali Khan. once said in a meeting that I do not have any property, I do not have wealth, I have life and I will sacrifice it for Pakistan and he sacrificed his life for the sake of his country. Agha Masood Hussain said that Liaqat Ali Khan had said that he was ready to give his life for the protection of Pakistan. When Liaqat Ali Khan was leaving this world, then he said that God should protect Pakistan. Faiz Ali Khan performed the duties of Moderator at the event. On this occasion, Muhammad Usman Jamee presented a ghazal, while Afsar Ahmed presented a song for Liaqat Ali Khan.
