Art, talent, creativity, it’s a gift. Knowing your way around colours, embellishments, motives, fabrics, it’s undoubtedly a talent. But more than that, it’s about experience. Experimenting with designs helps you grow. I’ve been designing clothes on orders since 2007, and holding exhibitions but only involving friends and family, not under a brand name.
The idea of being a business-woman in a patriarchal society, alongside being a work-from-home mom, just didn’t sit well with me. With small businesses, and work-from-home becoming the new normal in recent years, the word impossible whispered- ‘I’m possible’. in 2018, I set up my own work place, a studio at home.
My clients play a big role in it. When people appreciate your work, admire your capabilities, trust you for their big days and events; it gives you confidence. And so, their faith in me gave me the push I always needed. I decided, to step out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. After some collaborations and/or exhibitions with other brands, the Women’s Festival came along. An opportunity to step out, to showcase my work to a newer, larger audience. I, Shahi Rizvi bring you, Nehaj (peak), the peak of creativity, design, elegance and grace!
