Emirates Health Services receives the Best Communication Award from the Future of Digital Creativity

Emirates Health Services (EHS) won the award for ‘Best in Future of Digital Innovation 2022’, at a conference held by the International Data Corporation (IDC) at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, which brought together more than 200 senior IT and business leaders from across the UAE.

EHS won the award in recognition of its digital innovation management platform ‘Afkari’, which is used by the employees, partners, and customers to develop healthcare-related ideas and test prototypes. The platform also plays a notable role in promoting digital transformation at Emirates Health Services.

Her Excellency Dr. Kalthoum Al Blooshi, Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Training and Development Centre at EHS, stated that: “Winning this award is a continuation of our commitment to excellence and leadership in providing customers with top-quality services that meet the highest standards. We also strive to promote high level performance from our medical, nursing, and administrative staff; Emirates Health Services is working to embed the principles and concepts of innovation at all strategic, organisational, and operational levels, in line with international standards, in an effort to significantly upgrade our digital and smart services.”

She added that “EHS’ achievements over the last short period and receiving of several local and international awards, reflects the level of innovation we have achieved in the health sector, and strengthens our leading position as one of the most prominent health institutions working to develop sustainable, holistic, and integrated innovation management systems and underlines our commitment to measuring the impact of innovation, and developing plans for continuous development and improvement”

Emirates Health Services won the IDC Award following a review and evaluations of its digital innovation management platform ‘Afkari’, which led the IDC to declare EHS as the entity that best implemented best practices in planning and executing digital transformation initiatives across various fields of operation.

The launch of the platform at EHS facilities has automated the submission, development, and evaluation of ideas from stakeholders, in addition to accelerating and streamlining the innovation process, while engaging strategic partners and customers throughout the procedure.

The platform also led to an increase in the total number of ideas submitted, which helped in overcoming a series of organisational challenges. With more than 45 innovation tools, the platform allowed for adopting an open innovation approach, which enables employees to work in teams to develop ideas and track their progress all the way through implementation.

Emirates Health Services implements international best practices in the field of institutional innovation, and explores new initiatives that support the development and promotion of a culture of innovation, in line with EHS’ vision to build the necessary infrastructure for driving innovation and professional creativity.
