Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated the UAE’s 51st National Day with various society segments. In a festive atmosphere, DEWA organised several visits to government and educational institutions. During the morning assemblies, DEWA raised the flag in a patriotic atmosphere and distributed souvenirs to the students, with the participation of Noor and Hayat, DEWA’s mascots that represent electricity and water. Over 11,000 students and teachers took part in the celebrations. DEWA also organised a virtual visit to Etihad Museum with the participation of 30 educational institutions. The visit targeted 4,200 students to introduce them to the Union’s journey and its milestones, through interactive exhibitions and educational programmes.

DEWA also celebrated National Day with people of determination at two separate events. The first was at Mushrif Park, with 147 male and female students from the People of Determination Care and Rehabilitation Centre, and the second was at Al Noor Centre for People of Determination with 140 students. The two events featured competitions on UAE’s heritage and history and included colouring workshops and various activities during which souvenirs were distributed.

Parents and staff participated in the People of Determination events in addition to several government organisations, including the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Customs. In addition to celebrating with society members, DEWA organised national and heritage activities for employees at several of its centres to mark the 51st National Day.
