i ’m Saima Abdul Qadir, the baker behind Sam Bakes and this is my journey of baking, from my hobby transforming into passion. I started baking out of pure interest, never in a hundred years did I imagine to pursue it as a profession.
A few days back, the hand beater I always used suddenly broke. Seems like something which might have happened in ever kitchen except it wasn’t just an ordinary beater! This beater has been my constant companion throughout my journey of baking. I remember purchasing it out of my own pocket money many years ago. It took me to a nostalgic ride back in time when I used to devote hours of my leisure time in the kitchen, trying to perfect my brownies.
I still remember a 12-year-old Saima gazing the books related to cooking and baking on visits to the bookshop. My eyes always wandered in search of anything related to cooking and baking. Those books were like holy grails for me, inviting me into a world of absolute joy while I stand there mesmerized by the scrumptious pictures of cookies and cakes on the covers.
Today when I see my friends and customers gushing over my creations, it fills my heart with gratitude and joy. And of course this all wouldn’t be possible without the unconditional support of my family and friends. My husband , who has been my rock throughout all my failed attempts and still encouraging me to reach my maximum potential and my brothers who used to gobble up my burnt brownies when I experimented in the kitchen as a teenager! Thank you all for the constant love and support throughout my journey. I look forward to serve you better with my authentic recipes which stood through the trials of time, along with some innovativeness in order to present something which hasn’t been experienced before.
