The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi, Dr June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, welcomed the arrival of two young Indonesian cyclists who were travelling to Mecca by bicycle from Blitar, East Java since January 2023. They are Ivan and Haikal. After travelling through Batam, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, the two cyclists arrived in Karachi on 15 February 2023.
The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi facilitated accommodation while the two cyclists were in Karachi, as well as assisted in the process of obtaining Iranian visas which would be used by both of them to enter Iranian territory through Quetta, Balochistan. The Indonesian Consul General is also very concerned about security during the trip to the border and advised the two cyclists to always raise the Indonesian and Pakistani flags during the trip as a sign of two friendly Muslim countries.
In addition, the Indonesian Consul General in Karachi will contact the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran to provide notification that there are 2 young adventurers from Indonesia using bicycles to Mecca via Iran. On this occasion, the Indonesian Consul General also expressed his appreciation to the two cyclists for their fighting spirit and dedication in carrying out worship in the holy land later.
In the message conveyed, the Indonesian Consul General Karachi said, “We are very pleased to receive the arrival of these two cyclists from Indonesia in Karachi and provide full support while in the accreditation area, on their way to Mecca. We also hope that their journey will go smoothly and safely.” to reach the final destination. We hope that this trip will be a valuable and inspiring experience.
