Ajman Tourism showcases its leading strategic plans at the Berlin Travel Trade Show

AJMAN: The Ajman Department of Tourism Development is participating in the Berlin Travel Trade Show “ITB” from the 7th until 9th of March which is the world’s leading travel trade show.

The Ajman official delegation is headed by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development and includes 12 stakeholders representing private and governmental authorities working in Ajman starting from the Ajman Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation, the Ajman Saray a Luxury Collection Resort, the Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah, the Ajman Hotel, the Fairmont Ajman Hotel, the Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, the Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche, the Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, Destination Touristic Services, Rida Travel & Tourism,  and Thumbay Hospital.

Ajman Tourism aims from this participation to showcase its latest tourism projects and shed light on the emirate’s advanced infrastructure, in addition to informing the visitors of its main tourism initiatives and superb services it has to offer. In this regard, the department intends to highlight the popular areas and touristic destinations that range from famous landmarks such as its pristine beaches, steep mountains, and natural reserves, to its luxurious hotels all along the coast, and the profound cultural diversity it boasts such as museums, historical sites, and local markets.

As per the department’s yearly report, the number of international German tourist arrivals has increased by 31% in year 2022 compared to the previous year, and number of room nights increased in 2022 by 25%.

Despite the political and economic challenges the world had witnessed during 2022, the tourism sector in Ajman managed to obtain a remarkable growth record where the hospitality sector witnessed a 9% overall revenue growth, a 26% increase in the number of international visitors, and a 14% increase in the average room rates in comparison with year 2021. And according to the STR reports, Ajman ranked first in the UAE in terms of hotel occupancy with an average of 80%, surpassing the closest emirate by 7% in year 2022.

His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Department stated: “ITB constitutes an important opportunity to promote Ajman’s leading position on the global trade and tourism map and which comes in line with the country’s national agenda to boost the economic and tourism sectors. This year, we aim to focus on highlighting the attractiveness of the destination with its remarkable features and potentials which have transformed the emirate into a preferred destination for tourists”.

“Ajman managed to attract thousands of visitors from across the world due to its outstanding offerings and services, and we are committed to pursue our efforts in launching more initiatives and projects that entice more tourists from different markets to Ajman”, Alhashmi added.

His Excellency stressed that the German market and other European markets are considered as important source markets to Ajman.  We also look forwards to reinforce our relationships with our international partners and strengthening our ties with the other participating exhibitors through new agreements and partnerships.

For the past couple of years, the emirate of Ajman has been heavily investing in reinforcing its infrastructure, promoting distinguished projects, and developing its vital regions which have all transformed it into an attractive environment for tourism that offers a unique cultural, natural, and entertaining experience for its visitors.
