The Meeting of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Central Standing Committee on Women’s Style, Beauty & Skincare was held recently at the Federation House. Convened by Mrs. Zehra Zahid Islam Faraz various matters were discussed such as; How to Increase value of your products abroad & locally by removing carcinogenic elements in skincare. Convener Zehra said that since the new Budget of Pakistan will retain the 25 % on beauty products in-order to promote Pakistani goods, it is the need if the time to improve the quality of our products so we can compete in the market properly.
Also the topic of devaluation was discussed by HRH Miran Haider as asking for freebies has become a norm in this society and it is a huge hinderance for any entrepreneur and must be tackled. It was agreed that awareness needs to be spread on social media, print media and TV in this regard. Bookmyspot team was also present and offered their services to the beauticians and others.
It was also discussed that Pakistani products are in need of proper marketing abroad to be able to compete with the market. A lot of marketing tactics need to be undertaken by companies & brands as the shift towards natural products such as herbs & ghee is apparent and this market must be tapped into to get it’s benefits globally. Zehra Zahid commended the committee on raising awareness through TV talk shows, media and on a successful previous seminar held to highlight some of the above issues.
Prominent members that were present included H.R.H Miran Haider, Ms. Maimoona Khurram, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Saeed, Advocate Ahmad Kamal, Ms. Aiman Afaque & others. Celebrity Actress Ghazal Siddique also joined via zoom.
