Launching ceremony of renowned musician and singer Bilal Maqsood’s children’s YouTube Channel “Pakkay Dost” held at Arts council of Pakistan Karachi. In the event, well-known intellectual Anwar Maqsood, Imrana Maqsood, President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah, famous actress Sarwat Gilani, Iqra Aziz, Yasir Hussain and other well-known personalities of the showbiz industry participated.
Calling it a special project Bilal Maqsood said that this is a very special day for me and my team, this is my life long project, when my son Mikal was born I realized that we don’t have Urdu poems, being in my band strings I didn’t get a chance to work on children’s songs. Our children listen to English poems instead of Urdu songs. At the last performance of Strings, I was thinking about the children backstage and then I started working on the children’s songs. It’s very simple but soon I realized that children’s songs are completely different. He said that I started listening to songs from Disney etc. Then I started working on children’s songs. Making children’s songs is a science, I asked my friend in Lahore to keep the music of these songs western.
The second step was to make puppets, Farooq Qaiser and Rafi Theatre have been doing puppet making in Pakistan. He said that this show is for children from three years to hundred years. Earlier I used to watch puppet shows like a fan and now I watch like a spy, YouTube channel “Pakkay Dost” has 13 songs with different things for kids to learn.
Bilal Maqsood has also named a character named Fatima Surayya Bajia in Pakkay Dost channel, which presents various sketches for the reformation of children. Pakkay Dost released various children’s reform songs including Baray Mian Gaye Cheen, Aik Do Teen Chaar, Aankhain Band Karloon, Tufail ki Height, Baarish , Brush Karna, Please Google it, Pait Tight, Kunda Cheating Hai, English Sikha Do among others. Which are well performed by Characters Bajjo, Jagga, Miral, Mateen, Tufail and Lal Baig.
