DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in the 43rd GITEX Global, held from 16 to 20 October 2023 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. DEWA will showcase its latest proactive and safe innovative digital services, programmes, and initiatives through its stand No. H17-A10 at Sheikh Saeed Hall. It will also highlight the projects and solutions of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of DEWA, through which DEWA is disrupting the entire business of public utilities and contributing to building a new digital future for Dubai.

“We work in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world, promote digital transformation, and continue the progress in the global competitiveness indexes. Every year, at GITEX Global, we highlight our effective contribution to enhancing Dubai’s journey towards becoming a global model for digital transformation. We underscore the major strides we have accomplished towards making Dubai a sustainable city and underline the Emirate’s leadership as a global smart city. DEWA’s participation this year aligns with the themes of GITEX, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, smart cities, Metaverse, Web3.0, cyber security, and 6G communications network. DEWA will showcase the latest technologies and solutions it invests in to provide an ideal experience for customers that enhances the happiness and quality of life of all stakeholders and allows them to obtain services through digital channels. This is in line with the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, Dubai’s Digital Strategy to digitalise all aspects of life in Dubai, and the Services 360 policy by the Government of Dubai to provide seamless, proactive, integrated, and specialised services that exceed customer expectations,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“Digital DEWA is based on four pillars: launching advanced solar power technologies; deploying a renewable energy grid with innovative energy storage technologies; expanding integrated AI solutions; and providing digital services that serve smart, sustainable cities while ensuring their security and continuity in the cyber digital space. We spare no effort to enhance DEWA’s position as one of the most innovative utilities in the world. We support DEWA’s goals to disrupt the business model of public utilities, becoming the world’s first digital utility to use autonomous systems for renewable energy and storage, and expanding the use of digital services,” added Al Tayer.

Visitors of DEWA’s stand will have a chance to win instant prizes by participating in its interactive activities. Through the annual GITEX competition, customers can enter the annual GITEX raffle, provided they use DEWA’s website or smart app at least once from 1 July to 30 September 2023 for the following services: bill payment, EV Green Charger, transfer of electricity/water (Move-To), Smart Response, using Rammas powered by ChatGPT, activating Away Mode feature, or the Self-Assessment tool.

In addition to its projects, DEWA is showcasing the projects of its subsidiaries under the Dubai 10X initiative, such as Moro, Digital X, and InfraX projects.
