DUBAI/KARACHI: The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi with the assistance of Sri Lankan Airlines facilitated the performance of ‘Ken B Eniwan’s Story’ by the Sri Lanka’s Stages Theatre Group at the Pakistan International Theatre Festival in Karachi. The festival was organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan.
The performance was organized as part of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, showcasing the cultural ties between the two countries.
The play depicted human life at various stages and received an overwhelming response from the audience during the two performances on 21 and 22 September 2023.
The Consul General of Sri Lanka Jagath Abeywarna, President Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Stages Theatre Group Director Ruwanthie De Chickera, Karachi-based consul generals, Sri Lankan Airlines Country Manager Saman Rathnayake, the president and representatives from the English-Speaking Union in Pakistan, were in the audience.
The success of ‘Ken B Eniwan’s Story’ not only marks a positive step for Sri Lanka’s theater scene but also strengthens cultural ties and fosters goodwill between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
