Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) 18th edition hosted an exciting seminar organized by Parents Pakistan Forum on “Today’s Parenting challenges for Parents in Pakistan” .
Naeem Khanani, Founder PPF briefed that Parents Pakistan Forum (PPF) is an initiative empowering parents to by giving them a platform which will provide ample opportunities to parents to explore burning issues related with parenting for Millennials & Gen Z parents to raise children surrounded by technology excessive exposure causing mental health issues and other challenges like balanced diet, children life balance and bullying and others.
Altaf Vayani introduced that Parents Pakistan Forum (PPF) is for parents by parents and to parents. A thought provoking Panel Discussion was moderated by energetic anchor Rizwan Jaffar with panelists thoughts by Dr. Daniyal Riaz on children mental health, Aseela Jaliawala on Bullying, Naheed Munir on excessive use of technology/screen time and Hina Anis on children balanced diet were very informative and participative.
Second session was organized by Abdul Razzak Pardesi, CEO & Founder Institute of Holistic Rehabilitation & Inclusion (IHRI) on “Parenting challenges for special need children”. IHRI faculty member Seher Hameed spoke on “Multifacted challenges faced by the special needs parents and “Coping strategies to overcome the challenges” by Dua Jetha of IHRI.
Chief Guest Khushbakhat Shujaat , seasoned educationist and former Senator highlighted the key take home message for parents and appreciated the efforts made by Parents Pakistan Forum.
Abdul Razzak Pardesi of River Oaks Academy ,IHRI and Marks school focused on inclusion of special need children into main stream and mentioned IHRI aim “live independently”.
Naeem Khanani Founder announced next program will be held in January 2024 on Parenting challenges for teen aged children with a focus on Drug free campuses.
