DAVO, Switzerland: The Pakistan Pavilion in Davos was the center of great discussion and dialogue at the ‘Inspiring Pakistan’ and ‘Investing in Pakistan’ Panels at Davos 2024 this year (World Economic Forum). These exclusive events brought together an illustrious panel of speakers, that showcased the rich tapestry of Pakistan’s culture, and transformative journey on the global stage.
Introduced and moderated by Pakistani Author and Poet, Haya Sehgal, the events served as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Pakistan Pavilion at the World Economic Forum (WEF). The distinguished lineup of speakers included names such as; Arif Anis MBE, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Syed Ali Naseer, Maj Gen Tabassum Habib, Dr. Tariq Malik, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Muhammad Zohaib Khan.
Haya Sehgal who is a Security Analyst and journalist spoke extensively on the need for Pakistanis to be on the global platform and increase in the visibility of the Pakistani diaspora and presence in such prestigious events. The theme for this year at the World Economic Forum was ‘Rebuilding Trust.’ The Pakistani Pavilion panel sessions were organized by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations and SACC (Swiss Asian Chamber of Commerce).
The Pakistan Breakfast itself which was a separate event at the Pavilion, was graced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. The prestigious event, the Pakistan Breakfast is by invitation to imminent dignitaries and is hosted by Zarrar Sehgal, Chairman of the Pathfinder Group.
