Consul General of Thailand visits SBP Museum & Art Gallery

0

DUBAI/KARACHI: Royal Thai Consulate General in Karachi proudly recommends Thais and those interested to visit the State Bank of Pakistan Museum & Art Gallery (SBP Museum) in Karachi. The SBP Museum is a great place to learn about the history and culture of Pakistan, as well as to appreciate the beauty of Pakistani art.

The current SBP Museum building, previously the Imperial Bank of India, is a Greco-Roman building, constructed in the 1920s by the British government. The building was turned into a museum in 2004 and conserved to house collection of artifacts and artworks.

The museum aims to preserve the cultural heritage of Pakistan, educate the public about the history of money and banking in the country, and promote artistic talent. The museum’s collection of foreign coins and banknotes also include some from Thailand.

The Museum regularly organizes art and cultural activities, such as the Japanese pottery collection, which is on loan from the Japan Foundation, held last week.
