KARACHI: The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community in Sindh province, organized “Harmony” – A Sri Lanka Community Day on 23 June 2024. The event, held at the Avari Tower in Karachi, saw significant participation from both the Sri Lankan community and local Pakistanis.
Avari Hotel, the Sri Lanka Honorary Consul in Hyderabad, Sri Lankan Airlines, RichFoods, and other business entities assisted the Consulate General and the Sri Lanka Community in Sindh Province in organizing the event.
The day featured a variety of cultural performances, including dance routines by the Chandana Wickramasinghe Dancers Guild, musical performances by Mahesha Sandamali, Sonal Prabhashitha, and community singers, accompanied by the Snaayu music band from Sri Lanka.
Consul General Jagath Abeywarna addressed the gathering, expressing his gratitude for the unity of Sri Lankans living in Sindh, which inspired the event’s name, “Harmony.”
The event received extensive publicity from Pakistani media.
