DUBAI: Emirates Sports Group held a press conference on July 10, 2024 to celebrate the opening and launch of the new Association for the Development of Corporate Sports (ADCS). Also announced at the event were new formats for corporate sports and the promotion of healthy lifestyles around the world, first developed by the ADCS. These innovations include the introduction of winter sports such as ice hockey, figure skating, short track speed skating and curling, as well as e-sports, strongman and drone sports.

Mohammad Abbas Ahmad Ali Alblooshi, General Secretary of ADCS: “Thanks to my brother Vladimir, who has been with me for a long time… I only did karate, but he opened my eyes to other sports… Thank you again to the UAE government for the biggest support which we always receive in everything we do. And, of course, many thanks to the Community Development Authority”.

Ilya Galaev, Co-founder of ADCS: I would like to talk about diverse sports offerings. Here are so many new initiatives which corporate sports are bringing to the table. The large ice hockey arena that is being built here will also be very interesting. So, people are
finding out their sports. Bowling is very, very interesting, as well as Darts for corporate sports. And also, a lot of games like running and about 24−25 sports in total that we will hold in our organization.

“I would also specifically mention drones, as it is the most cutting-edge and recent sport that is rapidly gaining popularity. One of the things which we will be providing here is drone sports. It’s also a very interesting new type of sport. Yesterday, I was at the
cricket stadium, and we were discussing the possibility of participating in major drone sports leagues and tournaments here.

Vladimir Burdun: “I want to emphasize the growing international interest in the Association. I’m proud to announce the early success of the Association for the Development of Corporate Sports (ADCS). We have already attracted interest from several countries and plans to host major events in Dubai, as this is the best place for ambitious sports development goals… We have already had a small congress where about 21 countries participated. It took place in April, here at the Emirates Sports Hotel. And 21 countries are already very interested in participating and being part of what we’re doing”.

“We thought that here in Dubai we don’t have such a good and big corporate spirit which could make it interesting for the companies in Dubai, in the GCC and also worldwide. We thought that Dubai – and it’s a beautiful place like Emirates Sports and all the facilities could host very good and very nice sports events for corporate sports.

Any of us could play, participate and win”, said Ilya Galaev, co-founder of ADCS. “Emirates Sports Hotel and Emirates Sports Ice Rink have been declared key venues for corporate games. The ice rink, which focuses on ice hockey, will become a center for winter sports in the region, where the sport is growing in popularity. Corporate sports can create a more accessible and inclusive sporting environment. Unlike traditional professional sport, corporate sports can appeal to people of all ages, body shapes and ability levels”, – said Vladimir Burdun.

“The association’s main goal is to promote corporate sports by creating a platform that combines both traditional physical sports and emerging digital e-games, including AI￾powered and virtual reality experiences”, said Vladimir Burdun at the end of the press conference.
