COLOMBO/KARACHI: The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, proudly announces a strategic partnership between Sri Lankan enterprises and the OBOR Group for the Lake Grand Project in Karachi.
This alliance marks a significant milestone in strengthening economic relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, fostering a promising future of cooperation.
The OBOR Group is parented by the leading Pakistani business house with a history of over 100 years and diverse interests in many prominent sectors including:
Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Leisure, and Tourism.
Innovative Building Materials, Real Estate and Construction, IT & Telecommunications.
The group has now commenced a major thrust in the hi-tech agriculture and environment upgrade arena.
The Lake Grand Project, with an estimated budget of US$ 300 million, represents the Group’s latest multi national venture in the leisure sector. The Pakistan government has already announced the highest priority for Agriculture and Green tourism.
A high level, distinguished delegation of seven, led by Chairman Shahid Firoz and accompanied by Consul General Jagath Abeywarna, will embark today on a 6 day mission to Sri Lanka. The aim is to explore collaborative opportunities not only for the Lake Grand Green Eco-tourism project but also construction materials, and technology sectors.
Chairman Shahid Firoz expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming collaborations, highlighting the potential for mutual growth and innovation.
The delegation is scheduled to meet senior most officials of over 40 Sri Lankan companies as arranged by the Sri Lanka Consulate General, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, and Sri Lanka Export Development Board. These meetings will focus on fostering partnerships in eco-tourism, ayurveda, agriculture, and construction materials.
