My name is Mehwish Anees, I embarked on my culinary journey as a housewife, delighting my family and friends with my cooking. Motivated by the growing trend of online food businesses, I decided to transform my passion into a full-fledged venture. Thus, HRH Bistro was born, named after my children (Hassan, Rida, and Hamza), and I started with lasagna and Singaporean rice
In the beginning, I invested significant effort into preparing individual servings, and my first order came from four employees at HBL. Their enthusiastic feedback led to more orders, and my business began to grow solely through word of mouth, without any marketing expenses or food PR.
The pandemic was a transformative period for us. We quickly adapted to provide door-to-door food delivery for COVID-19 patients, even offering free meals to those in need. This initiative greatly boosted our business. We were making 400-500 burgers and pizza fries daily, with every family member helping to manage the large volume of orders. With fast food joints closed, our ability to offer beloved fast food gave us a significant advantage.
Six years ago, I never imagined that a small online food business could achieve such success and recognition. However, my faith in my abilities and my belief in the potential of this venture drove me forward. The respect and acknowledgment from our customers inspired me to work tirelessly, catering to 50-200 people on my own and considering myself a one-woman army.
Without any formal training, my skills are entirely self-taught and God-given. Attending various events allowed me to connect with chefs and learn valuable tips and tricks to further refine my craft. Engaging with food-based groups also contributed to my success, leading to PR packages from renowned brands, competition wins, and media opportunities. Initially, I struggled with confidence due to my responsibilities, but the unwavering support of my family helped me embrace these opportunities.
Living the success I once dreamed of, I now look forward to expanding my culinary journey. In the near future, I hope to realize my childhood dream of opening a food cart or café. I proudly serve a variety of cuisines—Chinese, Desi, Italian, Continental, and more—along with frozen food. I am grateful that each dish from HRH Bistro is cherished by my customers. At this point, I can’t pinpoint a single specialty, but I believe that everything from our kitchen is special and worth every penny spent.
