Blood Donation Drive held at Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi

KARACHI: On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation. (AMTF), held a Blood Donor Campaign in the spirit of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

The event was held in Indonesian Consulate General office and attended by diplomatic corps, such as Consul from Malaysian Consulate. The event was also attended by members of the business community, Pakistani students, Muslim scholars, the media community, and Indonesian citizens in Karachi. Additionally, students from Binoria also joined the blood donation camp to support children suffering from thalassemia.

In his Opening Remarks, Indonesian Acting Consul General, Mr. Teguh wiweko thanked the participants for their contribution and reiterates that this annual program reflects the brotherly relations between Indonesia and Pakistan whose days of Independence are celebrated in the same month.
Mr. Asim Kidwai, Founder and CEO of AMTF on his speech, thanked the Indonesian Consulate General for the cooperation which contribute to the betterment of people especially the children suffering from thalassemia.

Mr. Ateeq Ur Rehman, Executive Director, expressed his gratitude to the Consulate General of Indonesia. He thanked them for their continued support and dedication to this program. This collaboration has been ongoing for nearly a decade. His appreciation underscored the longstanding partnership between the two entities.

The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi has established this program to be run annually and participated by both Indonesian and Pakistani community.
