DUBAI: The 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the World Memon Organization (WMO) Middle East Chapter was held on September 8, 2024, at the Park Regis Hotel in Dubai. Over a hundred participants attended the event, which began with a recitation of the Holy Quran.
Mr. Kamran Ghani, Regional President of the WMO Middle East Chapter, warmly welcomed the attendees and provided a comprehensive overview of the chapter’s recent activities. He also shared his vision for the future of the organization and encouraged members to actively participate in its initiatives.
The AGM included a financial report presented by Mr. Gulam Mohamed Iqbal, Regional Treasurer, followed by a Q&A session. Mr. Kamran Ghani and Mr. Afzal Allah Rakha, Regional Secretary, addressed questions from the audience.
Representatives from the Global Ladies Wing (GLW) also shared their perspectives. Ms. Shabana Abdul Razzak, Global Ladies Chair, highlighted the GLW’s global goals, while Ms. Zeenath Yasin, GLW Regional Chair (WMOMC), outlined her vision for the Middle East Chapter. The GLW’s 2023 and 2024 performance reports were presented by Ms. Madiha Furqan and Ms. Sobia Asghar, respectively.
A significant highlight of the evening was the introduction of the Global Youth Wing (GYW) by Mr. Yasir Gadit, GYW Regional Vice Chair – Middle East Chapter. Mr. Gadit explained the GYW’s vision and plans for engaging young members.
The meeting concluded with a heartfelt dua offered by Mr. Iqbal Dawood Pariyani, a WMO Trustee. Followed by the attendees gathered for lunch. And what better way to celebrate than with a plate of khaoso memoni—a dish that combines aromatic spices, tender meat, and the warmth of community.
