DEWA concludes 15th Future Engineer Camp

DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has successfully concluded the 15th Future Engineer summer camp. The camp hosted 30 participants, aged 11 to 14, all children of DEWA employees. DEWA Academy in Al Hudaiba hosted the Future Engineer activities, which aimed to expand students’ knowledge and skills in the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, cybersecurity, and composite mechanical structures. The camp featured workshops, educational activities, and a visit to Ski Dubai, all designed to enhance participants’ personal, scientific, and technical abilities, while encouraging self-development and creative thinking.

DEWA organises the Future Engineer camp as part of its commitment to investing in students and youth in a safe and positive environment as well as improve their skills and knowledge to benefit individuals and society. The camp aims to prepare students for promising careers by promoting scientific research, innovation, and creativity. It encourages the next generation to pursue scientific specialisations, empowering and training youth to become future sustainability leaders. The programme takes into account students’ cognitive abilities and age, ensuring they gain valuable knowledge and experience through practical experiments and applications.

DEWA praised the students, supervisors, and trainers for their dedication to maximising the benefits of the workshops, activities, and field visits. Parents expressed their appreciation for DEWA’s efforts to inspire their children to explore science and technology, develop their skills, and unlock their creative potential.

Parents also commended DEWA’s commitment to fostering an environment that encourages creativity and development. They recognised the team’s efforts in organising the annual Future Engineer summer and winter camps, which prepare future generations to make a sustainable positive impact. Ibrahim Hashim, father of participant Rana, thanked DEWA for the opportunity given to his daughter, noting how it nurtured her passion for knowledge and encouraged her to pursue scientific and engineering disciplines. Similarly, Moteb Salem, father of participant Abdullah, expressed his satisfaction with his son’s participation, highlighting the experience’s role in developing his skills and preparing him for a promising future.

Over its 15 editions, the Future Engineer camp has engaged 464 children of DEWA employees, achieving 100% satisfaction among students and parents in this latest edition.
