SEPANG: Tourism Malaysia is excited to welcome Malaysia Airlines’ inaugural flight MH749 from Da Nang, Vietnam, which arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 1520 hrs.
The launch of this new route marks a significant milestone in expanding connectivity from second-tier Vietnamese cities to Malaysia, presenting a valuable opportunity to attract more tourists while expanding Malaysia Airlines’ presence in Vietnam, adding to existing routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Tourism Malaysia, was present to greet 150 passengers on this maiden flight alongside Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) representatives.
Vietnam is one of the key target markets apart from China, India, Indonesia and Australia. This new direct connection manifests a strong collaboration with Malaysia Airlines and shared vision to support the goals of Visit Malaysia 2026 in welcoming 35.6 million international tourist arrivals and generating RM147.1 billion in tourism revenue.
These weekly flights will operate daily between Da Nang and Kuala Lumpur, utilising Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
