JAKARTA/KARACHI: Four prominent female influencers from Pakistan—Areeka Haq, Hira Attique, Laiba Shah, and Hemayal Attique—recently embarked on a tour of Indonesia to promote the country’s vibrant tourism among the Pakistani public, with a special focus on encouraging female travelers.
The journey began with an official visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the influencers were warmly welcomed by the Directorate General of Information and Public Diplomacy. Their tour itinerary covered Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali, including visits to iconic destinations such as Monas Monument, Istiqlal Mosque, and Sarinah Mall in Jakarta. The influencers also experienced Indonesia’s new high-speed Woosh train to Bandung, where they enjoyed the natural beauty and attractions of Dusun Bambu Family Park and the scenic Skyline Resto View.
In Bali, the influencers engaged in a range of thrilling outdoor activities, including ATV rides, the Bali Swing, and visits to Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, The Jungle, Alas Harum Bali, and Alaska Bali. These activities showcased Bali’s adventurous side while emphasizing its safe, women-friendly travel options.
Every day, the influencers shared their Indonesian experiences across their social media platforms, receiving enthusiastic responses from their followers in Pakistan. The positive feedback underscored the appeal of Indonesia as a travel destination, especially for women. Together, the influencers’ combined followers, who include a young and largely female audience, were inspired by Indonesia’s welcoming environment.
This visit was organized and facilitated by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi as part of its commitment to tourism diplomacy with a gender mainstreaming approach, aimed at fostering travel opportunities for women. With Pakistan now being one of the largest Muslim countries, sharing a population makeup similar to Indonesia’s, with nearly 50% women and a young demographic, this collaboration marked a significant step toward enhancing cross-cultural connections and promoting safe travel experiences for women.
