LAHORE: The Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) proudly participated in the 2nd National Conference on Food Security and Nutrition for a Sustainable Future (NutriCon 2024), organized by Superior University at Fazal Muhammad Auditorium, Lahore. This prestigious event brought together a diverse group of participants, including researchers, academia, healthcare professionals, policymakers, agriculture experts, NGOs, industry stakeholders, and students, to address critical challenges in food security and nutrition.
Dr. Shehzad Amin, CEO of Pakistan Dairy Association, delivered an insightful keynote speech on “Safe and Affordable Dairy Nutrition”. His address emphasized the importance of ensuring the availability of safe, nutritious, and affordable dairy, highlighting the crucial role the formal dairy sector plays in improving public health and food safety.
As a key milestone during the event, PDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Superior University. This partnership is set to create a dynamic bridge between academia and the dairy industry, fostering collaboration to address industry challenges and advance nutrition awareness among youth.
The Pakistan Dairy Association announced a series of initiatives under this partnership to promote safe dairy nutrition awareness. These include organizing nutrition awareness sessions for students, providing scholarships to support their professional growth, and offering training opportunities to equip them with industry-relevant skills. The goal is to inspire and prepare the next generation for a healthier and stronger Pakistan by connecting academia and industry through practical engagement and knowledge-sharing.
