KARACHI: On Sunday, 5th January, 2025 Annual Picnic organised at the Pakistan Naval Academy for over 850 Rotarians and their families was a great treat and lots of fun for all.

The Rotarians look forward to this event for the whole year. It was a big event this time under the guidance of PDG Hanif Khan and the RCK Bay President. The picnic was planned and executed as always by our mentor and fatherly figure Admiral Tanveer Ahmed.

The most important thing to mention here that the entire thing was done with clock like precision. It was announced on arrival that high tea would be served at 10am. One could correct his or her watch because at 10am the tea was served. All events were conducted on time.

Rotarian Lubna Punjwani with her dedicated team conducted spots and games for all. One felt pleased to see the kids enjoy to the fullest. Boat rides were provided to all.

At sharp 1.30pm as announced lunch was served. What a sumptuous meal for all. Hum tou kha kha kar thuk gaee. After the meal we had Tambola session. Prizes and gifts were given to the winners. Monitory awards were given to the senior sailors of the Pakistan Naval Academy by PDG Hanif . Early during start of function all participants were informed that our District Governor and his family will join us for the Picnic .We missed them as they could not make it due to some other pressing commitment. It was our pleasure to meet PDG N D Tanwir along with his family join the Rotarians. Thank you Sir Tanwir.

Naval transport was provided by the Academy to take all the guests to the Naval hut to enjoy some time at the beach. The tug of war was so enjoyable that we all loved it. Hats off to Madam Lubna. With great difficulty all guests were persuaded to return to the Academy by 5pm where high tea was served to all. As per plan the guests left the Academy by 6pm . The whole day was filled with fun and floric and PLENTY to eat.

The things worth mentioning were the proper timing maintained for all events. Punctuality was the order of the day. Effective control of security. No one and I repeat no one was permitted to enter the Pakistan Naval Academy without a valid pass. A lot of planning must have gone into this event to make it a great success. We were informed by Admiral Tanveer that the children of SOS Village Jamshoro were sponsored by Rtn Danish Aman. That is the spirit of Rotary.

We all are grateful to the Commandant, officers and sailors of the Pakistan Naval Academy who worked very tirelessly to make our picnic so memorable.

Looking forward to the next picnic. Thank you RCK Bay for living upto your reputation for organising such wonderful event.
