DUBAI/KARACHI: The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi, Pakistan, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community, hosted the 77th National Day Celebration on 4th February 2025 at the Sri Lanka Consulate General. The event brought together a significant number of Sri Lankans and esteemed Pakistani dignitaries, including the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka for Hyderabad, Mehmood Mandviwalla.

Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi, Jagath Abeywarna, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and highlighted Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its economy and foster social harmony, overcoming past challenges with determination. He reflected on the nation’s 77-year journey as a democratic state committed to resilience, progress, and unity.

The celebration featured a series of events, including the hoisting of the Sri Lankan national flag, the singing of the national anthem, multi-faith religious observances, and the reading of Independence Day messages. Attendees were also treated to a delightful selection of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, offering a taste of the island’s rich culinary heritage.
