Sri Lankans in Karachi Organize “Isthiraaha’25” to Mark Ramadan

KARACHI: The Sri Lanka Consulate General in Karachi facilitated Sri Lankan students in the Sindh province in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community to organize an Iftar gathering on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Consulate General premises.

The event, Isthiraaha’25, aimed at fostering unity and cultural harmony true tradition, brought together a large number of Sri Lankans and distinguished Pakistani guests, including Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka for Hyderabad Mehmood Mandviwalla. The evening featured the traditional Iftar (breaking of the fast), night prayers, a special sermon delivered by a renowned Sri Lankan scholar, and a dinner.

The Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi Jagath Abeywarna highlighted the significance of organizing the Iftar and thanked the support extended by the Pakistan Authorities to organize the event.

The event served as a platform for cultural exchange and strengthening people-to-people relations, reflecting the deep-rooted friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, which continues to unite Sri Lankans in Pakistan in a spirit of togetherness and mutual respect.
