DUBAI: The AVEVA World Conference held at the W Escape Hotel, Palm Dubai, closed yesterday. It was the first event held in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region by the global leader in engineering and industrial software since its successful merger with Schneider Electric’s Industrial Software Business last year.

The conference was opened by CEO Craig Hayman who delivered his vision for AVEVA. He described how, as a global provider of engineering and industrial software solutions, customers successfully transform their businesses, with AVEVA solutions supporting them at every step of their journey.

Over 500 users and industry experts were present at the event, engaging in a variety of application stories, best practice examples and ‘how-to’ breakout sessions aimed at the Oil & Gas, EPC, Power, Water Waste Water & Infrastructure, Food & Beverage and Mining, Metals & Minerals industries.

The event demonstrated how AVEVA serves many of the world’s largest industrial companies, including ADNOC, ATARFIL, Wood PLC etc., offering a powerful solution with an end-to-end portfolio of digital technology spanning the entire asset and operational life cycles.

Business leaders such as Abdul Nasser Al Mughairbi, Senior Vice President, Digital, ADNOC Group attended and spoke at length about AVEVA’s digital transformation solutions and how they can bring about improved efficiency and profitability while helping maintain a competitive edge. Abdul Nasser Al Maghairbi said: “AVEVA is collaborating with ADNOC across our digital transformation journey. They are innovative and reliable partners who are bringing the capabilities and solutions that are helping us to think differently and seize on the potential of disruptive digital technologies.”

“Demand for oil and gas continues to grow, but be in no doubt, our industry is facing global challenges and those who are ready to innovate and challenge their own thinking will flourish in the future.”

Commenting on the event, CEO Craig Hayman said: “The AVEVA World Conference offers insight from a world class array of industrial companies and gives senior executives the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ with our cutting-edge technologies in the Innovation Hub. With so much talent and thought leadership in one room it was a fantastic environment to learn, share and innovate together. Digital transformation is a key boardroom topic, one of the top three priorities for Global CEOs. AVEVA sits at the heart of this industry change, and is gathering together the brightest minds to discuss the opportunities it creates.”

At the heart of the conference was AVEVA’s Innovation Hub, showcasing jointly with Schneider Electric the next-generation EcoStruxure™ architecture and platform that delivers IoT-enabled open and interoperable solutions across user segments.

Designed to run digital demos using videos and customer references, the Innovation Hub presents 17 user case studies across six domains of expertise that highlight the value of the EcoStruxure™ architecture.

These user domains include building, transportation, water and waste water, oil and gas, utility and data centres. Bringing the innovative platform closer to its customers as well as to a broader audience including energy and tech entrepreneurs, the mobile concept can also easily relocate to exhibition sites.
